We had gone to Lucas, an upcoming suburb in the DFW Metroplex area. Lucas is so unlike all the cities I have been to. Characterised by large homes on big lots and vast open spaces, Lucas is my dream neighborhood. I wish such a facility existed in India. There are homes which have facilities to have a horse, goat pens, and cattle barns. And there is development, good roads, though a wee bit narrow for American standards, electricity and all kinds of infrastructure one could wish for. For the first time since I arrived in Texas I saw a sheep farm, government veterinary hospital among others.
Thanks to the advent of spring, everywhere there is greenery and everything looks so full of life. Trees are full of bright green leaves, grass appears lush and soft, there are colourful flowers growing everywhere, by the sidewalks, in the creek, parks, trails etc.
But as we journeyed back towards home I saw a vast land parcel marauded by developers. They are obviously building a large shopping mall which will house all the major super stores. This parcel was a sharp contrast to the lively green Lucas we saw. Here are some pictures for you to take a look and admire and also feel worried about the development.
I’m adding your blog’s rss feed so that I can see your new posts. Keep up the good work!
